G-1000 Heavy Duty Eco S
G-1000 is Fjallraven's main material, created in 1968. It consists of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. It is durable and strong, protects against wind and UV radiation.
The G-1000 is tough, but the G-1000 Heavy Duty is even stronger. Rigid, waterproof, and impregnated with Greenland wax on both sides, it takes durability to a new level. Fjallraven's G-1000 Heavy Duty is less ventilated than G-1000, so we use it for products where durability is a priority, rather than breathability, such as many of our bags and backpacks.
When smoothness is required, we use G-1000 Heavy Duty Eco S. It is thinner and therefore slightly lighter than the regular version and is made from recycled polyester and organic cotton.
