G-1000 Eco
G-1000 is Fjallraven's main material, created in 1968. Durable and strong, it consists of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. It is lightweight, ventilated, and protects against wind and UV radiation. And with Greenland Wax, it adapts to different climatic conditions.
Guided by our commitment to using as many recycled and sustainable materials as possible, we have created an eco-friendly version of the G-1000 Eco made from recycled polyester and organic cotton.
Wool
At Fjallraven, we believe that wool is one of nature's most functional materials. Wool keeps you warm by trapping air between its fibers, even when wet, and it does not insulate heat, which helps you stay cool even in high, above-zero temperatures. Wool is a thermoregulator, so by wicking moisture away from your body, it also keeps you free of unpleasant odors.
Depending on the thickness of the fibers, wool fabric can vary greatly in thickness. It can be very thin and delicate, ideal for underwear - made of merino wool. Or it can be soft, like lamb's wool. Or thick and durable, like sheep's wool.
Supreme Microloft
Supreme Microloft is a durable material that is easy to clean and retains heat even when wet. Fjallraven's own development is a synthetic insulation that imitates down, but unlike down, it is much stronger and can withstand more moisture without losing its insulating properties. It also retains its lightness and airiness even after prolonged use.
Ideal for adventures in the changing conditions of our climate.
Re-Wool Melton
Re-Wool Melton is a smooth, premium wool fabric with a short pile that we use in the Norrvåge and Kanken series. A new fabric for Fjallraven that has been tested in the field for 20 months and received only positive feedback.
It consists of 80% recycled wool and 20% recycled polyamide, is very dense and thanks to the melton weave looks like felt (felt). Durable fabric, resistant to weather changes and has the same abrasion resistance and tensile strength as G-1000 Heavy Duty ECO S. The fabric is not dyed, the colors are created manually by selecting a mixture of fibers of different colors.
Re-wool
At Fjallraven, we are convinced that wool is a great material, too good to waste. That's why we work with recycled wool - from surplus old products and leftover production.
Using traditional Italian methods, the recycled wool is sorted by color, shredded, and then blended with wool of other colors to create a unique shade. Finally, we blend the yarn with polyester or polyamide for added strength.
Our combined Re-wool material has all the qualities of wool and is much stronger thanks to the addition of synthetic fibers.
