HC-Lite (High Coast Lite) is a material that combines natural and man-made fibers (54% polyamide and 46% organic cotton), which makes it a great windproof fabric that is lightweight and windproof.  HC-Lite waxes easily and dries quickly, so you can easily add water-repellent properties to your garments to protect them from moderate rain.
HC-Lite is a great choice for the environment because the organic cotton it contains is produced using less water, pesticides and chemicals than conventional cotton.

G-1000 is Fjallraven's main material, created in 1968. It consists of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. It is durable and strong, protects against wind and UV radiation.
The G-1000 is tough, but the G-1000 Heavy Duty is even stronger. Rigid, waterproof, and impregnated with Greenland wax on both sides, it takes durability to a new level. Fjallraven's G-1000 Heavy Duty is less ventilated than G-1000, so we use it for products where durability is a priority, rather than breathability, such as many of our bags and backpacks. 
When smoothness is required, we use G-1000 Heavy Duty Eco S. It is thinner and therefore slightly lighter than the regular version and is made from recycled polyester and organic cotton.

The material has a fleecy surface, making it soft to the touch and quieter than other versions of the G-1000. At the same time, it has the durability and strength of G-1000 and is waxed to resist wind and rain.
