Eco-Shell Everyday

Fjallraven's Eco-Shell is a lightweight, waterproof, breathable material made from recycled polyester with a water-repellent (DWR) impregnation on the outer layer and a hydrophilic membrane underneath.
Any outdoor brand needs functional protective clothing.
When we created Eco-Shell, we didn't just want to make a durable, wind and rain resistant material; we wanted to do it all without harming the environment, so we chose a PFC-free impregnation.
PFC or perfluorocarbon chemical compounds are widely used in the outdoor industry because of their water-repellent properties, but unfortunately, they do not biodegrade and can persist in living organisms for several years, gradually moving up the food chain.
Eco-Shell Everyday is the strongest and most durable material in the Eco-Shell family. It is less breathable than other versions of Eco-Shell, but is the best for frequent use and daily protection from the weather.

Hydratic versions: Hydratic 2.5 L (2.5-layer) - a membrane with a unique print on the inner surface, Hydratic 2 L (2-layer) - a laminated membrane and Hydratic Liner - a separate layer that is used in combination with G-1000 material.

Vinylon F

Fjallraven Kanken wouldn't be Kanken without Vinylon F fabric. This durable and easy-to-care-for synthetic material has been used from the very beginning for the Kanken Classic daypack.
Despite the fact that it is an artificial fabric, the principle of its work is the same as that of natural fabric. When wet, Vinylon F fibers swell, making the fabric denser - this prevents moisture from penetrating and allows you to do without synthetic impregnations.

Recycled Polyester

Fjallraven uses recycled polyester instead of conventional polyester. Our polyester is strong but soft; it is low wrinkle and easy to clean. Recycled polyester is made from plastic PET bottles, unusable second-hand fabrics and scraps.
By reusing fabrics, we reduce the use of virgin raw materials, especially from non-renewable sources, which has an indirect effect - we reduce air, water and soil pollution.

Organic Cotton

Cotton is an incredibly comfortable, soft, natural material that can bind moisture.
At Fjallraven, we always use long-fiber cotton of the highest quality. But cotton is a resource-intensive material. It requires a lot of water, pesticides and fertilizers to produce. This hurts local biodiversity and the surrounding ecosystem.
That's why Fjallraven decided to phase out conventional cotton and switch to organic cotton gradually. High-quality organic fiber is produced with less water and without the use of toxic pesticides and synthetic fertilizers.
